At the age of nine he moved to Belleville, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit where he attended Belleville High School and befriended two students, De rrick May and Juan Atkins. Saunderson, with Atkins and May, (often called the “Belleville Three”), is considered to be one of the originators of techno, specifically Detroit techno.

His seminal acid track Rock to The Beat, recorded under his ‘Reese’ pseudonym with close friend Santonio Echols was released on FFRR in the Second Summer Of Love in 1988. Shortly afterwards Belgian new beat band ‘101′ made a cover version which performed equally well across Europe

The track in all its forms remains a classic defining feature of the Acid House explosion, and helped to launch the long and successful career of Kevin ‘Master Reese’ Saunderson

Gui Boratto is Brazil’s biggest electronic music export. Born in São Paulo, he has achieved international success as a composer and recording artist – through his association with the seminal German label Kompakt – and as DJ/live performer, thanks to the unique nature of his genre-spanning sound.

Gui’s talents were initially sought by a host of major record labels in Brazil, such as EMI, Virgin and BMG, where he spent ten influential years supporting established artists as varied as Pato Banton, Garth Brooks, Steel Pulse, Desiree, Mano Chao, Gal Costa, Chico Buarque, Fernanda Porto and Kaleidoscópio.

Since 2003, Gui has clocked up releases on highly coveted underground labels like Plastic City, Audiomatique and Circle whilst his relationship with Michael Mayer’s iconic Kompakt imprint has gone from strength to strength. The critically acclaimed and commercially successful debut album Chromophobia in 2007 produced perhaps Gui’s most well known and most in-demand track, the anthem ‘Beautiful Life’, which in turn lead to the 2009 follow up album Take My Breath Away, with the title track and No Turning Back becoming club land smashes across the world.

Beautiful Life – along with tracks like Acróstico – propelled Boratto’s music to a global audience and has lead to extensive use of his music in, for example, commercials for Absolut, MTV and Vice Magazine (Creators Project), as well the Spike Jonze film ‘I’m Here’ and numerous Brazilian films and documentaries, most notably a feature on supermodel Giselle Bündchen.

DJs as diverse as Tiefschwarz, Steve Bug, Hernan Cattaneo and Pete Tong provide only a sample of the widespread support Gui Boratto has had for his music. Tong in particular has been a passionate advocate of the genius of Gui. Moreover, such is the distinctive and emotive nature of his sound, that Gui is one of the few artists who has true appeal across different genres of electronic music, whilst still retaining his popularity and credibility.

React Music Publishing (RMP) represents artists and performers who write their own material as well as songwriters who compose songs for other artists.

The publishing company was founded in 1999 as a spin-off of the React Music record label, which ran successfully between 1990 & 2004. RMP was initially set up to handle the publishing copyrights of the label. It subsequently found itself venturing further into the electronic music market and signing established and respected artists including Sharkey, Lisa Abbott, Pete Gooding & K Klass.

In 2010, company founder and music industry veteran, James Horrocks was joined by Gary Gray, whose creative abilities to source new artists such as Federici and Revelin Sky and songwriter Adam Levy, has helped relaunch the company, which is now actively signing and developing new talent to compete successfully in the ever-changing music market.

React Music Publishing is subpublished exclusively for the world by Truelove Music
