Gui Boratto is Brazil’s biggest electronic music export. Born in São Paulo, he has achieved international success as a composer and recording artist – through his association with the seminal German label Kompakt – and as DJ/live performer, thanks to the unique nature of his genre-spanning sound.

Gui’s talents were initially sought by a host of major record labels in Brazil, such as EMI, Virgin and BMG, where he spent ten influential years supporting established artists as varied as Pato Banton, Garth Brooks, Steel Pulse, Desiree, Mano Chao, Gal Costa, Chico Buarque, Fernanda Porto and Kaleidoscópio.

Since 2003, Gui has clocked up releases on highly coveted underground labels like Plastic City, Audiomatique and Circle whilst his relationship with Michael Mayer’s iconic Kompakt imprint has gone from strength to strength. The critically acclaimed and commercially successful debut album Chromophobia in 2007 produced perhaps Gui’s most well known and most in-demand track, the anthem ‘Beautiful Life’, which in turn lead to the 2009 follow up album Take My Breath Away, with the title track and No Turning Back becoming club land smashes across the world.

Beautiful Life – along with tracks like Acróstico – propelled Boratto’s music to a global audience and has lead to extensive use of his music in, for example, commercials for Absolut, MTV and Vice Magazine (Creators Project), as well the Spike Jonze film ‘I’m Here’ and numerous Brazilian films and documentaries, most notably a feature on supermodel Giselle Bündchen.

DJs as diverse as Tiefschwarz, Steve Bug, Hernan Cattaneo and Pete Tong provide only a sample of the widespread support Gui Boratto has had for his music. Tong in particular has been a passionate advocate of the genius of Gui. Moreover, such is the distinctive and emotive nature of his sound, that Gui is one of the few artists who has true appeal across different genres of electronic music, whilst still retaining his popularity and credibility.

The publishing company was founded in 1999 as a spin-off of the React Music record label, which ran successfully between 1990 & 2004. RMP was initially set up to handle the publishing copyrights of the label. It subsequently found itself venturing further into the electronic music market and signing established and respected artists including Sharkey, Lisa Abbott, Pete Gooding & K Klass.

In 2010, company founder and music industry veteran, James Horrocks was joined by Gary Gray, whose creative abilities to source new artists such as Federici and Revelin Sky and songwriter Adam Levy, has helped relaunch the company, which is now actively signing and developing new talent to compete successfully in the ever-changing music market.

Guy J is the highly sought after producer, DJ and live act whose infectious production talents, worldwide touring schedule and groundbreaking debut album on Bedrock have all contributed to his surging popularity. The Israeli has pioneered the increasing trend for melody-rich and emotionally charged house music, through productions that straddle the space between the genres of ambient, house and techno.

After making waves with a volley of killer singles, Guy released his hotly anticipated full-length artist album – ‘Esperanza’ – on John Digweed’s heavyweight Bedrock label in 2008. It was critically acclaimed and firmly established Guy as a key player in a new wave of deep house protagonists.

More essential cuts like ‘Lamur’ (Bedrock), ‘Pleasurety EP’ (Sudbeat) and ‘Shaman’ (Turbo Records) have since followed to sustain the buzz around this young man’s talents. His Heliscope EP in late 2010 saw the development of his relationship with Bedrock, with his music again transcending genres. With 2011 marking Guy’s second artist album, once more on Bedrock Records, he has cemented his place as the core artist on one of the dance world’s most respected labels and continues his rapid evolution.

Steve Lawler needs no introduction, but he certainly warrants one. You would be hard pushed to find a more in-form, in-demand, exceptionally talented artist, regarded as highly by his industry peers as he is by his huge global base of musically educated fans.

Steve Lawler, a child of the acid house generation, has been busy with the beats long before genres were but a twinkle in clublandʼs eye. An electronic artist who defies generic boundaries, ever since his days organising the infamous motor way raves back in the early 90ʻs underneath the M42 motor way, in the UK.

As an artist: his releases & remixes have been signed by some of the worlds most established recording labels; R&S Records, Systematic, Drumcode, Harthouse, Cocoon, MBF, OVUM, Sci+Tec, Tsuba, Souvenir, Rekids, Boxer Sport, Be As One, Monique, Kostbar, Soma, Skint and of course his own recording label VIVa MUSiC.

There aren’t many producers who can say they’ve had such a profound impact on a particular scene, quite as John Graham can about the progressive house/trance movements during the late 90s. As Quivver, Tilt and Space Manoeuvres, his production and remix work has generated a conveyor belt of dance floor anthems that have become the classic sound of the genre.

As one third of Tilt, releasing through Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto label, John’s music dominated clubland in the 90s, becoming the sound of superclubs like Cream and Gatecrasher. After leaving Tilt in 1999, Quivver returned with ‘She Does’ and then the familiar Stage One, recording this time under the moniker Space Manoeuvres. These tracks became the most sought after in the scene and John found himself repeatedly on the Global Underground compilations of artists like Sasha and Digweed.

Since 2003, John has continued to release as Quivver throug his own label BozBoz. His recent track ‘All Fall Down’ was featured in CSI:NY (Season 7, Episode 10) and a successful collaboration with Hybrid, on single ‘Choke’, lead to its use on the Frank Miller film ‘The Spirit’ in 2008. Furthermore, the appeal of John’s music can be seen in its trademark profile for the award winning video games Call of Duty; the Black Ops’, Modern Warfare and World at War editions, which are amongst the biggest selling computer games ever.

Sandy Vee’s blend of melodic pop chops, studio expertise and underground aesthetics has culminated in a fresh new sound that brings an underground mentality to the world of worldwide smash hits. He is exceptional amongst hit producers as he does the final mixes to almost all work himself. Over just the past six months, Sandy Vee has become an increasingly regular presence on the global charts with hot new releases from a dizzying array of Top 40 A-list artists including Katy Perry (“Fireworks, which hit the top 10 in U.K., Scotland, Ireland, New Zealand), Ne-Yo (“Beautiful Monster,” which peaked at #1 in the U.S. and U.K.), David Guetta (“Sexy Bitch,” which peaked at #1 in a slew of countries, including the U.K., France, Germany, New Zealand and Canada) and Pitbull feat T-Pain (“Hey Baby [Drop It To The Floor],” which reached #44 on Billboard Hot 100 and #21 on Billboard Rap song chart).

Sandy is especially proud of his work with David Guetta, as the overwhelming global triumph of the “One Love” album has had a noticeable effect on popular music at large, including hip-hop. “I was walking through a recording studio in New York recently, and all I heard were other artists working on danceable, electro tracks. It’s the same when I turn on the radio,” Sandy enthuses. “That underground four-on-the-floor house beat is everywhere right now. I believe it’s the success of Guetta’s album played a large part in making that happen.”

It was during Sandy’s first trip to New York City in November of 2009 when he first met up with Stargate, the Norwegian production team who have had much American urban and pop success. “I played them a few tunes I was working on at the time, and they went crazy for one in particular,” Sandy remembers now of that fateful meeting. “So we worked together and finished it. It’s kind of ironic — we just delivered that first track we ever worked on all those months ago to Sean Kingston for his next album.

The Sandy Vee/Stargate connection has resulted in a fruitful working relationship with hit songs as “Fireworks” (Katy Perry), “S&M” (from Rihanna’s forthcoming “Loud” album), “Beautiful Monster” (Ne-Yo) as well as a new remix of the Taio Cruz song “Higher” featuring legendary U.K. diva Kylie Minogue.
Sandy has collaborated with known topliners such as Claude Kelly (Kesha, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera), Ester Dean (Katy Perry, Rihanna, Ciara), Cristyle (Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson), Bonnie McKee (Katy Perry, Kesha) and August Rigo (Sean Kingston, Justin Beiber, lyaz).

Sandy Vee is currently residing in New York City.
